“The purpose of #HSHF is to teach our youth how to become independent, financially literate, and express themselves in a safe space. We aid aged-out foster youth because I was once a foster youth who grew up without these necessities. Most youths have experienced homelessness, from couch surfing to living in their cars (as have I). Youth contribute to the increasing homeless population. If we can start from when they are about to enter the world, we can bridge the gap between childhood and adulthood.”
